Zzzzzzzz

Not only did Caleb sleep through the night last night (7:20p-6:50a) he also took an hour nap this morning and an hour nap around the middle of the day. I guess he decided this wasn't enough sleep so he is currently taking another nap with his Daddy. I'm not sure if this is a result of having shots yesterday, a growth spurt, a new leaf or what but whatever it is I'll take it.

Yeah Caleb!

Today's Events

In addition to going to the Dr. today we also got to spend a little time outside at the park with our friends from Mommy and Me . Caleb loved sitting on his blanket and taking everything in.

We also added a new item to our rice cereal menu and decided to spice things up (yeah right) with a little Yo Baby yogurt. He evidently didn't think it was to bad and thought he needed both hands to help shovel it in.

I guess today was a pretty big day for him because he ended up going to bed at 7:20p. This is the earliest he has gone to bed. Typically he goes down between 8:00-8:15. Let's cross our fingers that he sleeps through the night.

6 month check-up

Caleb was the best at the doctor's office today. He loved sitting on the table in his diaper as we waited and discovered a new toy in the paper they put on them. He thought it was tons of fun to bang on it and loved the noises it made and thought it was super neat to tear it. I decided he wasn't harming anything and let him go at it until his little heart was content. He also enjoyed the way the room echoed and had fun making noise and listening to himself.
Today we were in the ocean room.

I'm always amazed by our little trooper when it comes shot time. He did great today and made me very proud. I'm so glad he was easy to console back to happiness because I really felt bad when they caught him off guard while he innocently played with his toy. I got a little teary eyed on this one because he was in the best mood and had no clue what was awaiting him. Luckily I just had to pick him up and he calmed down within the matter of seconds and didn't make a peep about it the rest of the day. He ended up getting an oral vaccine, one shot in the right leg and two in the left leg. He didn't get a sucker but was able to sport some very nice shiny, silver band-aids.

Today's stats:
weight - 15lbs 12 oz (almost 25th percentile)
length - 27 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
head - 17 inches (50th percentile)

Thanks "Money Saving Mom"!

Just another reminder of why you should check out Money Saving Mom. This is a look at some of the things I was able to pick up last week at Target for $12.45 (unfortunately they charge tax on the full amount prior to the coupons). These items were purchased using internet coupons, coupons from the Sunday paper (thanks Diane for saving these for me) or coupons I received in the mail from Target. The most expensive item I purchased was the diapers but I was able to get them for $3.00 off. Here is a break down:

Huggies wipes - $0.39
Pampers wipes - $0.63 each
Diapers - $6.99
All laundry detergent - Free (use this link to print off your free coupons)
Colgate toothpaste - Free (plus overage)
Huggies disposable wash cloths - $0.19

6 Months Old

Happy 6 months birthday to me!

That's right, while Mommy and Daddy are still in denial I officially turned half a year old on Saturday! Here are some random things about me:

1. I still have big blue eyes
2. While I know how to roll over I would prefer not to mess with it and really like to be sitting up instead.
3. Mommy and Daddy FINALLY gave me some cereal on Saturday.
4. I love banging on my little piano and prefer to use my left hand more than my right
5. I still like to make sure that Mommy and Daddy know I'm around in the middle of the night and like to wake them up at least once.
6. I have one tooth and am working hard on getting a few more
7. I love putting my feet in my mouth and if I try really hard I can even poke myself in the eye with my big toe. I'm thinking about working on putting my leg behind my head next.
8. I LOVE being outside
9. I think it's really neat to try to catch the bubbles when Daddy blows them for me
10. I really enjoy babbling and making sure that others know I'm around.

Breakthrough

After months of drooling and chewing on anything and everything in sight Caleb has finally had a tooth breakthrough (bottom, middle on his left)! It's just barely up above the gum but you can definitely feel a little sharp edge poking through. He has done really good and hasn't been too fussy. We are wondering if this is why he has been waking up at night. We tried to take a picture but didn't have much luck. We will have to try again once it's a little more visible. It even feels like he may have another one next to it that might be trying to make it's appearance over the next few weeks.
