Jack-O-Lantern Fun

Caleb was all excited this year about making a jack-o-lantern and asked for several days when we were going to make one so Sunday was the big day.

Here are a few family pics before the carving began. :-)

The boys were deep in thought drawing out the outline of their jack-o-lantern and getting all the pre-work done.  David showed Caleb a few different jack-o-lantern ideas on the computer and let Caleb pick which one they ended up making.

Caleb was all about getting his hands dirty and scooping all of the guts out of the inside of the pumpkin.

While David worked hard on carving the pumpkin Caleb worked on creating his own masterpiece with all of the ooey gooey guts of the pumpkin.

And here is the finished product.  I thought they did a great job and I love our jack-o-lantern.

Random:  This has nothing to do with our jack-o-lantern but I think it's funny.  Last Friday Caleb had his Halloween party at school and Joshua and I got to attend.  It was fun getting to watch them play games, have their snack and enjoy some craft time.  One of the crafts was getting to decorate a pumpkin.  One of the kids in Caleb's class was a little upset at Caleb and said "hey Caleb you are using all of the eyes", without missing a beat Caleb responds "well my momma likes a lot of eyes" (LOL! Where did that come from.)

2 Months Old - Joshua

My little punkadoodle (yes this is what I call you sometimes) you are getting big so fast.  You are such a sweet boy and we love you to pieces.  Your Daddy and I love having two boys and are starting to get a little more adjusted to the fact that we are now a family of 4.   I'll admit it's still a little weird saying "the boys" or last night I made a reference to "the kids" which caused your Daddy to stop and have to repeat me saying "the kids" as we are still getting use to the fact that there are now 2 kids in our family.  I still feel like we just brought you home from the hospital and here you are already 2 months old.  Here is a little information about you:

- You usually eat about every 3 hours during the day
- You are all full of smiles and have lots to say first thing in the morning
- You have been going to bed between 8:00-8:30pm and are starting to sleep a little longer at night.  We actually had a few nights where you slept until around 2:00am, ate, went back to sleep and slept until around 4:00am and then ate and would wake up between 6:30am-7:00am. The last couple of nights you didn't sleep quite as well but Daddy thinks this might be because your nose was a little stuffed up last night.
- You still start out at night sleeping in the pack and play in our room but the last couple of weeks we have started putting you to sleep in your crib at a later point in the night after you wake up to eat.  You can be quite the little grunter at night and were on this trend of waking up around 4:00am and then just grunting and being really restless the rest of the night which was causing us to not get much sleep so we started putting you in your crib at your feeding at 4:00am and slowly moved it up to putting you in your crib whenever you woke up the first time to eat.
-  You have been doing a really good job lately of me being able to feed you in the middle of the night and lay you down partially still awake and you put yourself back to sleep.
-  You really like bath time, with the exception of when we get you out and are getting you dressed, and it actually seems to calm you down at night.
- You have started taking a pacifier occasionally
- You are still nursing and have not had any formula.  You have had a bottle twice (once to see if you would take one and once while I went out at night for a couple of hours while you stayed with Daddy and big brother)
- Your big brother is still crazy about you and is always coming up to you and saying "hi Joshua" while he is right up in your face :-).  He also likes to try to get you to smile and says "do you have any smiles for me".
-  You are in size 1 diapers
-  You have started transitioning into 0-3 month size clothes
-  You really like be carried in the baby bjorne front carrier and typically go to sleep while you are in it.
- People are always saying you look like your big brother and Daddy.
- Your umbilical cord finally came off
