Ouch!

Monday was shot day for Caleb. I think this ended up being harder on David and I than Caleb however it wasn't a cake walk for him either. Bless his poor little legs, he ended up getting one oral vaccination and 3 shots in his thighs (one shot in his right thigh and two in the left). He did great with the oral vaccination and didn't spit up any of it. He did cry some with the shots but I think he got more upset and even held his breath when the Dr. used the tongue depressor to check his throat. I thought the nurse was great with him and was a lot more compassionate than most people had told me they would be and I didn't feel like she just jabbed the needle in like others had told me they would.

He didn't run a fever but around 2:00pm his legs must have been a bit sore and he was pretty fussy for a few hours. I felt so bad for him and just made sure to give him Tylenol and put a warm washcloth on his legs to help with the soreness. I think he totally worked the soreness out in the muscles in his legs since he is constantly moving and he didn't have any trouble the next day. It was so sad seeing him with the band-aids on his legs but he didn't even flinch when I took them off. I just waited and let them soak while he was taking his bath and took them off after they had loosened up.

David and I are still amazed at how long he is and are curious if he will end up being taller than us or if he is going to peak out after a few years. He is currently 24 1/2 inches long (90th percentile), weights 11 lbs. 3 oz. and his head is 15 3/4 (50th percentile).
